Since 1996, Buckner has been serving women and children in Lufkin through Buckner Family Place, a self-sufficiency program for single parents, and also through our child development center. Now we provide foster care and adoption services to the greater Deep East Texas area, too.
As part of Buckner Children and Family Services, we have years of experience working with children and families and are committed to helping find loving homes for children in our community. Our experienced team can answer any questions you may have about the foster care or adoption process. We look forward to hearing from you!
For our Foster Care and Foster-to-Adopt program, we are currently recruiting families who are open to working with the Buckner team and providing loving homes for:
- Children of all ages with special challenges and behavioral needs
- Sibling groups of three or more children
- Babies who may be reunited with their families
We are also recruiting families who are willing to become trained and certified as treatment homes.
For our Texas Waiting Children/CPS Adoption program, we are currently accepting applications for families open to adopting:
- Children ages 10 and up with special emotional needs
- Non-Anglo children ages 10 and up
- Children or teens with special needs, including menatally disabled or with autism
- Sibling groups of three or more children
- Teenagers
For our Domestic Infant Adoption program, we are looking for families who are willing to maintain an open relationship with a child’s birth family. To learn more about open adoption,
